Seamus McKenna (Chair)

Seamus joined the Board in September 2019 and took over as Chair at the same point. With more than thirty years experience in the education sector within London and Hertfordshire, his most recent substantive post was as Head Teacher at Finchley Catholic High School. He also has a great deal of experience in school governance both in the primary and secondary sectors. Seamus is a parishioner at Our Lady and Saint Vincent in Potters Bar.

Gerry Costello

Gerry has vast knowledge about the school, having been Clerk to the Governors for 21 years before being elected Chair in 2012. Born in Ireland, Gerry grew up in Finchley, attending Our Lady of Lourdes and St Michaels. Gerry’s professional background is in Administration and HR Management. She is very active in the parish of St Philip’s and has been a volunteer with St John Ambulance since 1981.

Father John Dermody is the Parish Priest of St Philip the Apostle, Finchley and the School Chaplain to St Theresa’s. He was born of Irish parents and grew up in South-West London. After gaining a degree in French and Spanish, he worked in banking for nine years before responding to the call of the priesthood. He contributes greatly to the spiritual life of the School through his particular interest in the liturgy and in spiritual and pastoral development.

Marie joined our Governing Body in September 2018. She was brought up in Crouch End and attended the parish schools of St Peter-in-Chains. She later attended Our Lady of Muswell afterwhich she went on to St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School. After university and law school, Marie qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and since then has obtained a wide range of experience in both City law firms and as an in house lawyer.

Linda O’Melia

Linda is the Headteacher at St Theresa’s. She previously was a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Sacred Heart Primary School in Whetstone. Linda has experience of being seconded to Summerside Primary School in Barnet as Assistant Head and was instrumental in developing their leadership and teaching and learning. Linda is an experienced teacher and has taught Early Years, Infants and Junior classes in her long and varied career.

James Troy

James is the Deputy Headteacher and Key Stage 2 Leader at St Theresa’s. He also currently leads Maths and P.E across the school. Previously, James was a member of the leadership team at Chatsworth Primary School in Hounslow. During his teaching career James has taught in the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. James held the post of Year 6 teacher at St Theresa’s for two years before becoming the Deputy Headteacher.

Onyeabo (also known as Ony) has spent his entire professional career in property management. Before turning his hand to consultancy he worked for the largest global real estate company where he was responsible for over 225 properties and a regional maintenance budget in excess of £18m.  Ony has 4 years’ experience as a parent volunteer at his son’s Saturday school in Finchley.  Ony’s son attended St Theresa’s.

Christine Fleming

Christine is a retired primary school teacher. Her association with St. Theresa’s started in 1981 when her eldest daughter started in Reception. Over the years, through her pastoral work as  Children’s Senior Catechist at St.Theresa’s responsible for First Holy Communion and Reconciliation and then as Governor from 2011, this association has continued. Christine is now the proud grandmother to 3 gorgeous grandchildren who keep her extremely busy.

Nick O’Donnell

Nick is a Company Director in the Hospitality Sector. Nick’s mother and father were both school teachers back in his home town of Derry, Northern Ireland. After studying Engineering at College, Nick moved to Paris where he lived for 10 years and started his career in Hospitality. He has also studied a post grad qualification in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.

Nick’s career in Hospitality has helped him gain experience in all aspects of business management including financial management and budgeting as well as Health and Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety and many other areas too. Nick and his wife, Orla, herself a former pupil of Saint Theresa’s, have 2 children at Saint Theresa’s.
