For the whole of Black Hisotry Month across the school we tried to learn about as many hidden inspirational figures as possible. We know there are wonderful inspirational figures like Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King but what about people like Lilian Babrer, the first black member of the RAF? or Viv Anderson the first black footballer to play for England.
Across the school we learnt about hidden black figures in mathematics, famous black artists and art movements founded by balck artists, inspirational black figures in literature and music and many more. Here are some of our pictures from Black History Month 2021!
Our personal highlight of the month was when famous poet Benjamin Zephaniah retweeted our performance of his wonderful poem ‘The British’. It was viewed over 1000 times in 2 days! Have a look for yourself!
