Blessed Marie Thérèse de Soubiran – Our Foundress

Blessed Marie Thérèse de Soubiran was a French Catholic religious sister who dedicated her life to God and to helping others. In 1864, she founded the Sisters of Marie Auxiliatrice (Mary Help of Christians), with a special concern for supporting and educating young people. She showed great faith, courage, humility and trust in God, even when she faced difficult times in her own life. She believed in serving others with love and placing her trust in God. Our school has strong historical links with the Sisters of Marie Auxiliatrice, who established St Theresa’s Catholic Primary School in 1966. Today, her example continues to inspire our school community. We aim to follow her example by caring for one another, showing kindness, serving others and putting our faith into action. Through our Mission Statement, “We learn together, we play together, we pray together, we grow together in the love of God,” we strive to live out these values every day.
