Lords Day for St Theresa’s

A group of children from Years 4,5 and 6 got the fantastic opportunity to go Lords Cricket Ground to take part in the annual ‘Schools Day’ activities and get to watch a brilliant test match between Middlesex and Kent.

For many of our children it was their first opportunity to visit a live sporting event and we were so lucky to get fantastic weather to watch a great game between Middlesex and Kent. The children got to see the game in action after taking part in lots of cricket sessions this year as part of our P.E curriculum. We were then invited down to the academy training pitch where the children took part in some catching and fielding games. The children found them really fun and are now desperate to share them with the children in the playground.

As we were one of the first schools to arrive we got the opportunity to go into the academy training centre where the group then got to take part in some practice games – the children really enjoyed this and it was amazing to see how much they improved over the session.

We were also able to take on a scavenger hunt around the stadium which really helped us find out more about the history of the venue and find out some really interesting facts about the history of cricket.
