To celebrate London Maths week, our amazing Year 1 children got the opportunity to visit London Zoo to see what kind of maths we could discover at a zoo! On our travels we got to tackle lots of different mathematical skills.
- We counted and added the different animals in the ‘Into Africa’ section.
- We identified different shapes in the giraffe paddock.
- We compared the sizes of different animals such as the Okapi and the Lions.
- We estimated how many animals there were in different section such as the penguins and the butterflies.
On our way around we learnt lots of fun exciting facts about animals and also about different numbers. Thank you to all the staff and parents who helped make the trip such a great success.
