Year 1 have had a fantastic day out by the Southbank where they got to look at some amazing London landmarks before getting the opportunity to visit Shrek and many other characters at Shrek’s Adventure.
The children were so excited when they entered the elevator to be greeted by Gingy and the gang and even took a magic bus ride over London driven by Donkey!
After taking part in some hilarious games and interactions with various characters the children finally got to meet Shrek! They then went behind the scenes where they got the opportunity to take part in a fantastic workshop all about fairy tales. Here the children got to:
- Identify the conflict, climax and resolution in their adventure to Far Far Away
- Discuss the characters they met and their role within the story
- Identify the Heroes and Villains of the story and interpret their mannerisms through role-play
- Explore the role of setting in a story and how characters may react to new scenarios
- Create their own fairy tale ending to the adventure
The children were brilliant ambassadors for the school and had a great day out. A huge thank you to the staff and parents who helped with such a fantastic day out!
