Year 5/6 Cricket

Year 5/6 Cricket

We have been really lucky to get our cricket season up and running early this year. All the children in the school were able to access cricket lesson in the Autumn term thanks to the great coaches at Capital Kids Cricket. This really helped us select our cricket team in the latter part of the Autumn Term.

The school team entered the William Greaves tournament where they were firstly able to compete with other Barnet schools at the London Middlesex Indoor Academy on East End Road. The children played extremely well – especially when communicating as batsmen. The team played 4 games and were victorious in all of them!

This meant that we got the opportunity to represent the Borough of Barnet at the home of cricket – Lords Cricket Ground. The children were so excited to play at such a prestigious venue against some amazing opposition in the London semi finals. Unfortunately we came up against a really strong Ealing School side and were eliminated but the children are so proud of their achievements and went home knowing they had got to represent the borough at cricket. Well done guys!
